Undefeated

In 1988 a woman named Florence Griffith-Joyner set a world record in the 100 and 200 meter that has yet to be broken.

Aside from being an amazing athlete there is no denying that Flo-Jo had amazing style and presence on and off the track, that so many of us can relate to now. Let's take a moment and admire her beauty, athleticism, and motherhood. Before I forget, let me mention that she is from Los Angeles, California.

During her timeas an athlete Flo-Jo faced harsh criticism because of issues surrounding race, gender, and athleticism. One of the things I admire about her is her bravery to be herself and explicitly express her pride as a black woman. Often times the critics used language to imply that she was overtly sexual and they even tried to describe her unique track outfits as lingerie. Most of these unique outfits were her own creations, she's a star! But to her critics thought otherwise. Instead of them focusing on her athletic ability she was scrutinized for her appearance, but she paved the way for future generations to come. Let's take a moment to admire this record breaking mama, her physique, her style, and her accomplishments!
